Conferences

MoCoGenSo has sponsored genealogy conferences on the Central Coast of California since 1982.  The earliest conferences were called “Ancestor Round-ups”, but the name was changed to “Central Coast Genealogy Conference” in 1997.

  • October 17, 2009 – “Heritage Harvest“, MPC Library, Karen Clifford, Accredited Genealogist, presented a full day of classes, including Migration and British Basics, with two hour sessions on Electronic Resources and Land Records.
  • October 11, 2008 – Geoff Rasmussen, genealogist, author and educator, was the keynote speaker for the 2008 Central Coast Genealogy Conference sponsored by MoCoGenSo and the Seaside Family History Center.  The keynote presentation was “Timelines & Chronologies, Secrets of Genealogical Success”.  A full schedule of classes was offered at the conference.
  • October 23, 2004 – A Heritage Harvest Eight classes were offered to attendees, taught by experts from within our own membership.
  • October 12, 2002 –  Genealogy is a Voyage of Discovery!   Karen Clifford, our 2002 conference speaker, welcomed us aboard.
  • We welcomed Curt B. Witcher, President of the National Genealogical Society, for the 2001 conference.
  • Lloyd DeWitt Bockstruck was our featured speaker for the 2000 conference.
